The date span is based upon the following census information: 1840 - of 30 under 40 years (DOB 1801-1810); 1850 - 38 years (DOB 1812); 1860 - 49 years (DOB 1811); 1870 - 62 years (DOB 1808); 1880 - 73 years (DOB 1807). Note (2) 1840 Census; Crawford County, Georgia; Page 365: Note (3) 1850 Census, Crawford County, Georgia; September 5; Division 20; Page 406b, # 379/379: Note (4) 1860 Census, Crawford County, Georgia; July 4, 1860, Knoxville District, Page 913, # 350/340: Note (5) 1870 Census, Crawford County, Georgia; August 20, 1870; District 593 G.M.; Page 434a, # 766/776: Note (6) 1880 Census; Crawford County, Georgia; June 8, 1880, District 573: Knoxville; Pg. 705c, # 133/133: Note (7) Ava is listed as 73 years old on the 1880 census. September 2, 1884 she deeded her land to her only daughter. Research of Van Cecil Britt, points to her leaving Crawford County, and moving to Texas. The move has not been confirmed; however Ava is not found on the 1900 census for Crawford County, nor was she found on the 1900 census of Shelby County, Texas; with her son Kinchen's family. It seems she either passed on, between deeding her property to her daughter, and the 1900 census. Note (8) It is indicated on the 1830 census of Washington County, Georgia, that the family head Obed Britt is between 30 and 40 years old. Note (9) 1820 Census; Baldwin County, Georgia; Page 40: Note (10) Source: "Darien Baptist Church Records 1794-1862," published by Boyd Publishing Co., Milledgeville, Georgia: The present location of Darien Baptish Church, is Linton, Hancock County, Georgia. It was constituted December 6, 1794, at Buffalo Creek, in Washington County. It has known five buildings on three different locations, and has been part of the Darien, Hephzibah, and Washington Associations.
